The 59th Annual Convention of Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE) and International Symposium
are being jointly organized by the Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers, New Delhi and ICAR-Central
Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal during 10-12 November, 2025 at Bhopal, India. The event will
facilitate researchers, academicians, technocrats and industry professionals to deliberate on their innovative
ideas pertaining to farm mechanization, development of energy efficient farm machinery, automated
management of irrigation systems, smart agricultural practices, precision farm management and post-harvest
management of crops for quality and safe food, adaptation of renewable energy technologies in modern
agriculture and strategies for Agricultural Engineering education.
Theme of Convention -
The theme for annual convention "Engineering Innovations for Agriculture 5.0" is chosen in the context
of the pivotal role played by the Agricultural Engineers in ensuring India's food security during green
revolution era and ahead. However, today's agriculture needs reduction in cost of cultivation, precise
application of inputs and resources, value addition as well as risk management in agriculture production
by use of new digital technologies. Indian agriculture is facing several serious challenges such as extremities
of weather, diminishing natural resources, shortage of farm workers and decreasing farmers’ income. The
only possibility to increase the farmers’ income with the limited resources is through intervention of novel and
next-gen agricultural engineering technologies like drones, robotics, AI, IoT, weather predictors, digitization,
automation, and block-chain for enhancing farm productivity, processing and value addition. These issues
shall also be discussed in depth during the International symposium “Mechatronics and Robotics in Pre
and Post Production Agriculture”. The major objective of the convention is to provide a platform for policy
makers, academicians, industry professionals, farmers, students and other stake-holders to deliberate,
discuss and come up with appropriate solutions to achieve the goal of transforming agri-food systems.
The Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE) was established in 1960 with the objective to strengthen the profession by bringing together Agricultural Engineers of the country on one vibrant platform. The society has played a vital role in developing well defined linkages between the agriculture sector and industry and has facilitated in broader participation of its members in professional activities to give a boost to the agricultural production and post-production sectors. Agricultural Engineers have been immensely contributing in the field of farm mechanization and automation, irrigation and drainage, soil and water conservation, watershed management, flood and water control systems, command area development, post-harvest engineering and technology, agro-food processing and value addition, managing agricultural structures, environmental control, greenhouse technology, cold storage, renewable energy and in other domains directly associated to agriculture and farmers' welfare. The new age technologies like drones, robotics, AI, IoT and block-chain have been added in the domain of agricultural engineering to address the problems of future agriculture.
ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering (CIAE), Bhopal, an apex institute for agricultural
engineering in the country is devoted to the promotion of agricultural mechanization with the aim of
enhancing agricultural productivity, reducing drudgery in agricultural sectors, generation and management of
energy in agricultural systems, resource conservation, minimization of post-harvest losses, value addition of
agricultural produce, by-product utilization, human resource development and creation of employment
opportunities in the rural sector.
Established on 15 February 1976, the Institute has entered in the 50 year of its glorious journey. The
institutional activities are organized through four divisions (Agricultural Mechanization, Agro Produce
Processing, Agricultural Energy and Power, Irrigation and Drainage Engineering), four AICRPs
(Farm Implements and Machinery, Mechanization of Animal Husbandry, Energy in Agriculture and Agrobased Industries,
Ergonomics and Safety in Agriculture and Allied Sector), four centres (Centre of Excellence
on Soybean Processing and Utilization, Center of Excellence on Agri-electronics and Automation in
Agriculture, Technology Transfer, Krishi Vigyan Kendra), two CRPs (Engineering Interventions in Precision
Farming and Micro Irrigation Systems, Energy from Agriculture) and a Regional Station at Coimbatore. The
Regional station addresses the engineering intervention specific to the needs of southern states of the
country. While, pan-India needs are catered through different AICRPs and CRPs, linked with ICAR-CIAE,
Bhopal. The Institute is also involved in post-graduate teaching and research activities to train the young
minds for the development of scientific knowledge in the area of agricultural engineering.

Nestled in the heart of India, Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, is a captivating blend of natural beauty,
historical grandeur, and modern urban charm. Often referred to as the "City of Lakes" Bhopal is dotted with
serene water bodies, the most famous being the Upper Lake and Lower Lake, which offer scenic views and
recreational activities.
The city boasts a rich cultural heritage, reflected in its magnificent mosques like the Taj-ul-Masjid, one of the
largest in Asia, as well as its palaces, museums, and archaeological treasures. The nearby Sanchi Stupa
(a UNESCO World Heritage site) make it a haven for history and art lovers.
Just a short drive from the city, visitors can explore Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, another UNESCO World
Heritage site known for its prehistoric cave paintings that date back thousands of years. Equally fascinating
is Bhojpur, home to the grand but unfinished Bhojeshwar Temple, which houses one of India’s largest Shiva
lingams and showcases impressive 11 century stone architecture. Within the city, cultural institutions like
Bharat Bhavan, Manav Sangrahalaya, the State Museum, and the Tribal Museum celebrate the region's
diverse art, history, and tribal traditions.
Bhopal’s unique charm lies in its harmonious blend of old-world beauty and modern life, offering visitors a
chance to explore bustling bazaars, taste delicious street food, and relax by peaceful lake sides, all in one
place. Whether you're an explorer, a history buff, or just someone looking to unwind, Bhopal welcomes you
with warm hospitality and unforgettable experiences.
